Sorting allows you to create your own stock rankings by ranking the stocks in any WatchList by any criteria you choose.  Creating your own stock rankings can be a great way to bring the most attractive stocks to the top of your WatchList.  Sorting allows you to answer many of the questions you have, like:

What are today’s big gainers? Big losers? Most actives?

What stocks are other TeleChart users looking at right now?

Which industry group saw the heaviest trading today?

Which stocks in that industry group are showing attractive P/E Ratios?

Which of the stocks in my portfolio are exhibiting signs of being overbought?

What are the most volatile stocks in the NASDAQ 100?

These questions and countless others can be answered easily by sorting and sorting is simple.  In the graphic below the stocks in the S&P 500 are being sorted by Price Percent Change 5-day.  You can set the sort direction by clicking the sort direction button as shown below.  A sort direction of zyx will sort the symbols in your WatchList from the highest value of the sort criterion to the lowest.  A sort direction of abc will sort from the lowest value to the highest.  To change the criteria you are sorting by simply click the Sorted by: pulldown and you can choose from a list of both technical and fundamental criteria.  A description of each of these conditions is found in the glossary section of the help system.  You can create your own sort criteria using the Personal Criteria and perform ‘on the fly" sorts using the Custom Date Sort tool.
